Noveza An even
more superb view of the Lake and its surroundings are
offered from Monte Baldo. A completely restored
cable-car ascends the mountain. The station at the top
end is 1800m above the Lake and an ideal starting point
for hikes or mountainbike tours. The bottom
station has a covered parking area with spaces for 200
cars; from here there is easy access to the embarking
area, thanks to the lifts, which also serve the bus
terminal and eliminate all forms of architectural
barrier.
Limone sul Garda
is home to
the unique lemon houses, which cannot be found anywhere
else in the world. Thanks to the mild climate this
is the only place on Latitude 46 Degrees North where
lemons and citrus fruits can be grown.
The town of Limone sits on a narrow strip
of land at the foot of the tall, rocky cliffs north of
the Riviera. Today Limone is one of the most popular
tourist towns of Lake Garda, but it has preserved its
small-town charm.
Its picturesque, historic town center, ancient homes,
narrow streets, and ports surrounded by lush vegetation
offer endless possibilities for pleasant, relaxing hikes
and strolls both inland and along the lake.

PLACES TO
VISIT LAKE GARDA
Riva Del Garda
First visit is to the Rocca, the imposing XII-century
castle-fortification, completely surrounded by water,
used and often modified by the Scaligeris, the
Venetians, the princes of Trento, up to the Austrians in
1852 when it was used as a barracks, and the four corner
towers were demolished to reduce them to the height of
the roofs. Now the Rocca houses the Museo Civico,
important for its precious Gallery with a collection of
frescoes, paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures
dating from the XVI to the XX century. There is also an
archaeology section and an interesting collection of
photographs illustrating the frescos to be found in the
churches, palaces and castles in the area, all dating
from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period.
