The weather
at Lake Garda is ideal for many water
sports including sailing, surfing and kite surfing. The Lake has a
unique microclimate that's different from the rest of
the
Veneto region.
Due to the lake’s mass of water a thermal effect
is created. The Weather in the Winter is Ideal for doing intense or extreme
sports around the lake, such as mountain biking and windsurfing also It's not
very busy with tourists thus avoiding mass crowds. Obviously during the Low season, you can get
cheaper accommodation but the lake is usually too cold to swim in but many tourists do
swim up until October depending on the weather. If you visit after November It can get very cold with
temperatures dropping below freezing in December.
In the spring and summertime it's great beach weather usually dry with a lovely breeze to
cool you off, the water is a pleasant temperature for water sports and swimming ,
you can also hire speed boats and jet skis and being the most popular time of
year to go everything is Open. As mentioned before It can get to hot for some,
especially in July and August so make sure your Hotel has air conditioning before
you book, otherwise you can really suffer during the night if your accustomed to
hotter weather. In the summer months
it can get very hot even reaching 40 degrees Celsius, so if your not a lover of
the heat it's recommended you visit Lake Garda in the spring months from March
to May as the temperature is much more moderate averaging 25 degrees Celsius. |
