Lake Garda is the largest and most popular lake in
Italy. It was formed in the last Ice Age covering 370
sq. kilometres, reaching right up into the Alps. This
beautiful mountain location makes it one of the most
spectacular settings in the world.
Lake
Garda's
unique flora, rich soil and mild climate of the lake
area encourages an abundance of wildlife and flora. Olives,
lemon, peach and palm trees flourish and
the Gorgeous shoreline offers clean sandy beaches with numerous
ancient villa's & castles around the hillsides.

Lake Garda has many
ferries operating along its shores from one side of the
lake to the other, and especially in
high summer or during holiday weekends its best to
travel via the water than by land. The roads that ring
Lake Garda are narrow and winding and are not able to handle the
many visitors coming
from Austria and other euopean countries.
The further
north you go on Lake Garda the more spectacular the
scenery becomes. After exploring the delightful town of
Malcesine and it's 14th Century castle you can take a
cable car ride to the top of Monte Baldo and enjoy
an incredible view of Lake Garda at a height of over 1800 m

The scenery ranges from towering mountains to lush
rolling countryside, beaches, vineyards and olive
groves.
The clean waters of Lake Garda are
perfect for swimming and many popular water sports such as
windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing.
The local climate is softened by the presence of this
large body of water, which makes it comfortable for
exploring the towns and villages close to the lake such as Garda, Lazise, Sirmione, Torri del
Benaco, Bardolino, Limone and Peschiera which are
wonderful places to visit with a great choice of hotels,
B&Bs, villas and other accommodations or
just for wandering around the cobbled streets filled
with shops, hotels and restaurants and are home to
bustling lakeside markets.
